Youth Years
Last year the Centre consulted with the young people of the area as we know that it is vital to learn what they want from their Community Centre. A group of young people met with Youth Workers to share and air their views. This is extremely useful and there is more to come.
Apart from our skate and night ride events (see the events diary) the youth workers come to the park every Thursday evening supporting young people and acting as a crucial link between the young people and the centre. One very exciting development is that we have received funding to start our Dream Scheme which basically organises projects for young people and rewards them with points that can be spent on trips and activities of their choice. We also have a planned programme of activities throughout the summer every Friday evening 6.00p, to 8.30pm and young people can sign up for these events at the community centre. Alongside our Dreamscheme we are implementing an ID Scheme where young people can apply to join the scheme and have access to the Centre facilites.
