Weston-super-Mare’s prestigious Winter Gardens venue played host to the highly anticipated Weston College Business Awards last night.

The event brought together 20 distinguished guests for an inspiring celebration of learners and local employers who have worked closely with the college to offer work-placed opportunities to people taking their first steps in their career.

This year celebrated partnerships – so both the learner and employer were recognised within the same award. The awards were presented across various categories, including apprenticeships, adult training, and industry placements.

With 10 winners announced on the evening, amongst them was the Into Work Partnership Award winner Tobias Olson and Victoria Park Community Centre.
Pat Jones, Principal and CEO at Weston College Group, said: “The Weston College Business Awards was a truly memorable evening – a celebration of the talent, dedication, and ambition that make our community so special. It was an honour to recognise the hard work of our incredible learners, whose determination continues to inspire us. We were also delighted to share the evening with our valued employer partners – your ongoing support and collaboration play such a vital role in our learners’ success.

We are also proud of Tobias, who has shown fantastic dedication and made significant contributions to Victoria Park Community Centre. Congratulations to both Tobias and Victoria Park Community Centre – your achievements are nothing short of inspiring.”

Laura Fowler, from Victoria Park Community Centre, said: “We are incredibly grateful to have been nominated. Supporting and empowering people through partnerships with organisations like The King’s Trust isn’t something we do for recognition—it’s simply part of who we are. However, to have that acknowledged by Weston College is truly humbling. It reflects the dedication of our team and the welcoming, nurturing environment we’re so proud to be building at Victoria Park Community Centre; It inspires us to continue making a positive difference in our community every day.”
